I like it and this is why: Great use of color. I like the gradual color change from green to that yellowish tone from bottom left to top right. Good shading and detail on Hellspawn. Very Cohesive Comic book Art piece that almost want me to see it in Action animated. :bounce:

OMG this is so awesome. The colors are amaziang, and his design is sick. 5*s, I hope you win.

this looks great i love the coloring and detail of everything, the only thing that bothers me about the picture is the size of the head compared to the body. im pretty sure you meant for it to be that way but it just looks wierd to me.

Good thing he is bald.
He would never be able to comb his hair ! :)

Do you have any images of the making of this image ? It looks so much like a traditional watercolor painting that I would never have know it was digital !

Are all parts of the image done in Photoshop, or is some of it an actual painting ?

08-27-2008, 06:07 PM
Thanks a lot for the comments guys! (:

XYZRGB: thx! no traditional media. Just my custom brush set and good ol' photoshop! (:

Mario, Djampa: Thanks guys, I get that feedback on my style a lot, and it's weird since I have no idea how I exactly do it, all my painting just end up looking like that..ahah

I'll post some progress shots soon!

08-29-2008, 04:49 PM

that looks really cool, nice design and composition, my only big issue is the head. The head looks tiny on that giant body.

Awesome detail, and style. great work.

when i saw this on the banner i just had to look at it. i love spawn, i dont know the whole story nor do i read the comics even though i have some of them :P i love the character its so cool and the style and the way you portrayed your own spawn is awesome compared to the original piece. the style you went for is amazing and from what you wrote taking you a few hours i'd say you have some serious talent to work that fast and make a piece look amazing, the other contestants are gonna have a hard time surpassing this piece

job well done
