View Full Version : Soft3D Velvet Shader Crashing?

Hi guys,

I come from a Lightwave 3D background and I have only been exploring XSi 7 trial for the last 2 weeks or so. So far I really like it and may switch to it for my personal work.

I am trying to create a velvet material, however, when I load in the velvet shader from Softimage\XSI_7.0\Data\DSPresets\Shaders\Material\ soft3d folder, plug it to the material node and then open the velvet node it crashes. Does anyone have the same issue?

Alternatively does anyone know a better velvet shader that doesn't crash?

tried it. crashes on me as well when u open the velvet properties.

Thanks for the reply guys. I gave up and on the velvet shader and made one up instead. I used Incidence on a 2 colour mix to create the falloff. Not sure if this was the best way but it seemed to do the trick. If you know a better way I would love to hear it.
