Hi there,

Alessandro Carloni's story is all about story, about art in service of story. Beginning in 2D cel animation, he moved over into 3D with a firm grasp of the origin of the illustration. This skill has kept him busy and happy. Click the image to read the interview and feel free to comment.

Great story, a true inspiration being able to work his way up the chain of command. Proof that hard work and a desire to tell stories can take you anywhere. Good luck with Crood Awakening, i'm sure it will be great.

" You can choose to be a number, or be part of a storytelling team that makes a movie and if you choose that, you end up being that."

Very good quote. Thanks for the great interview/article CGS and Alessandro :)

And on a side note, Alessandro's picture on the front page makes me want to scream "This is Sparta!" :scream:

Awesome! I love his sketches. Would you mind asking him what kind of pen\pencil he uses to draw those?

CGS needs to interview Nicolas Marlet too. His concepts and designs on the art of kung fu panda book are some of the most amazing stuff I have seen.

I am serious :D

I love the texture of it you bastard. It is not a "what 3d app did you use to make those?" type question.

I was just shocked at your question because everyone knows it's the paper that makes it awesome.
