View Full Version : How to Render the Z depth at XSI
young_cheng 06-01-2003, 07:05 AM I have turn on the Z depth at Render Option
and I have get the Zpic...
but I can't read this pic at XSI FlipBook , FXTree and DFusion
so...I think maybe I have wrong at setting Render Option..
So pls tell me how to do it...

After Effects can read Zpics.... I think the FX Tree can too if I'm not mistaken.

Create a seperate depth pass and render that.
This way you can choose whatever image format you wan't for the file.

but I'll try it...
I have a way to get zpic.....
uh.....I projection a ramp texture on every object from Top view
then I can get a gradient Image....
and in 2D software blur the black area or white area...
this is fake Zpic...^^

Hi,
AE and DF automaticaly loads zpic files for pic sequences loaded in then, since the zpic sequence are in the same dir as the pic sequence.
The Flipbook only reads RGBA files not Z (there is no reason to), and FXtree inside XSI loads z depht information in the very same way as AE and DF I think, but I'm not sure.
