Hi guys, maybe I'm missing something. Is there a keyboard shortcut to lock axis directions. What I mean is this: when I edit points with Live selection active I want to move selected points in Z direction only by pressing a button and dragging, without changing everytime the tool or going on the axis gizmo.
thanks in advance.

Thanks Thirdeye for the fast reply  (as usual), but I was meaning a different thing. I know that I can lock the axis in this way but IMHO it is quite slow as workflow.
I was mean something like 4 shortcut locked in one direction and running not only for the whole object but also for points.

Another way that I find useful to speedup workflow is something like next example:
Realsoft (also Maya) has a great feature that is to record macro. In this way you can simple setup a copy of the command (for example move) with different option (I can create a copy (and an assigned keyboard shortcut) for moving only in x direction, another for moving only in y direction and another for moving only in z direction). In this way if I press p.e. x then I can only move things in x direction, if I press y then I can only move things in y direction, ecc...

Personally I think that using Axis gizmo is quite fast but usually I disable Center Point Editing Axis (because I use the free plugin Axis Center) and a lot of times If I want to see the axis gizmo I have to zoom out, move the points, and then zoom in; quite annoying.

Sorry for this long reply but I hope that now my problem is more clear.
Bye :)

use the O button to veiw the whole object and the S button to veiw all selected elements. That just might help you.
