Very cool pic.

Maybe what Yorgo means is that the neck seems very thin and the head a tad too long (from back to front) ?

great image

i think the neck is ok as it is.... what seems somewhat odd to me is the skirt/ stance of the feed. i think thats, what makes her look out of balance.

I dont like the way she leans to the side, it makes her look like she is going to fall over.

Love the background btw!

The folds in the dress seem kinda unsure, and the bulge on the right really isn't part of the fold structure, it needs to be smoothed out or incorporated into the rest of the scheme. Also it seems kinda odd there is a foot rail in front of her, there may be some perspective issues happening, for some reason I seem to want the horizon to be lowered, maybe someone else could comment on this, I would like to hear how this could be fixed:) Nice hair and skin! I love the outer glow on her arm.

Looks great diamant, only crit from me would be the lighting on her neck. It doesnt match the color of the rest of the lighting, and seems to go up to high.

[EDIT]looking at the larder image, it doesnt look like light, but something else, what is it?

P.s. I see that you are in seattle now. What made you move all the way cross country to our neck of the woods.

kwshipman- not really sure what you are refering too about "something else"? I see that the neck has its issues.. it was actually a tough part for me to draw... never could get it exactly right.. oh well..live and learn.. I think i'm gonna have to start makin more 3d..people tend to like that much better here :) as far as why i'm here in seattle.. well..what else makes ya move :) job of course. my opportunities were a little lackin on the east coast.. I always knew i'd end up someplace on this side.. and washington has a huge gaming market.. so Amaze gave me a great offer and the ability to be able to work on some next gen stuff...so how can i pass that up :) so here i am now..i've actually only been here for a month.. all new to me.. its very different from the east coast though.. much more relaxed! but i'm sure i'll enjoy myself!

I like the sense of mood and action that it gives. I apologize in advance for anything I say that doesn't make sense as I can't even draw good looking stick figures.

If you look closely at the right side of her neck the hashing makes it seem as though she has gills or something. It looks like an attempt to do something different for the lighting, but doesn't really seem to match the rest of the piece.

I also think the back of the neck/head area looks a little strange, but I have a hard time putting my finger on it. Mostly I think it is the fact that the lighting and hair hide how the neck and the head are joined and the strong right line of the neck, the line of her right jaw and the background all serve to kind of hide the line from her chin to the front of her neck.

Also, maybe too much foreshortening of the perspective on her left shoulder making it seem as though her left shoulder is tilted down and not just away from the viewer.

She seems strangely tall (the distance from her head to her waist is dramatically shorter than the length of her legs [unless she has some wicked high shoes underneath that dress]).

Dude!!! Don't stop posting 2D work!!! you are very talented and I'd like to see more of your stuff. We are giving you crits to help you improve!

as for the neck, it only looks funny because it's rim-lit where her face would block the rim-light. aside from that, I'd call it a finished painting. ...good one too!

keep it up!

I think the focal point is in the wrong place. i tend to look to the right of the picture, maybe put her in the muddle more?, dont know. maybe im wrong. i love the sky though. it does look like there is something up there. very nice job. and you should do more 2d. i injoy 2d art just as much as 3d. even more i think. hmm

Well welcome to Washington and congradulation on the position with Amaze! There has been talk every once an a while about a get-together for the Seattle people. So keep your eye on the General discussions if interested.

Looking foward to seeing more of your 2d work!
