View Full Version : C4D generated .aec file wont open in After Effects
vnavone 05-31-2003, 07:40 AM C4D 8.1, AE 5.5, OSX 10.2
I've set my multi-pass render options to include the creation of After Effects projects, but the resulting .aec files will not open in After Effects. I get an "unsupported filetype or extension" message from AE. Is there a plugin I need to install in AE? Is anyone else having this problem?

Maybe you need this?
Hi,
rather than trying to open the aec in AE you have to create a new project and import the aec to it. Then AE will load it without problems.
cheers mnu
Hi,
you will have to install the plugin Pit pointed out within AE to load AEC files.
Cheers

Thanks for the quick reply! The AE project feature is more robust than I realized. I didn't know it also output the 3d camera and light info. Sweet!
Sweet this victor navone guy looks pretty cool. Not everyday we get a Pixar dude in this forum.
