OK, this sounds like a FAQ question, sorry if it's been asked before...

I'm just sitting here with a particle system that seems to stop rendering more particles than 100,000. -Anything above, even 1,000,000, and the rendered frame is EXACTLY the same as 100,000, even though the render time is much higher...

Funny thing is, I can copy the particle system (with 100,000 particles), and change the seed in the new particle system, and that actually works, that gives me 200,000 particles.

???

Click on the title of your pflow (the global event) or the pflow icon in the viewport. You'll get the global options in the parameter section of the particle view or the modify section of the command pannel, respectively. There is a max particle spinner there, it's 100 000 by default, but goes up to 10 000 000 ;) Also, this is a limit per pflow engine, so if you have two engines, they can produce 20 000 000 particles. Another way to go beyond 10 mln, to virtually unlimited particle counts, is Krakatoa partitioning, which caches multiple passes (different random seeds) of the same particle system.
