Hey everyone, i just installed my new 980XGL video card... and i got all of the settings done, turned off vsinc and all that good stuff...

No conflicts in the device manager, i do have AGP4x mode on in the bios.. etc etc...

and it still chugs on basic polygon models...

basically it performs on par with my GF4 4400...

i do have Maya/Studio Tools settings enabled and everything, did a good clean install of the drivers...

i'm at a loss... i hope i didn't drop a lot of money on this.... :sniff:

help help help! =)

Thanks everyone!

What driver?

Did you select Maya in the applications settings section of the Quadro driver properties?

Why did you turn vsync off?

Did you enable overlays?

Do you have UBB turned on?

Download and run the SPEC viewperf tests and make sure your numbers line up with what you see for 980 XGL on www.spec.org.

now that i got my computer all put back together...

there was something really wrong with that video card... my 4400 is about 100% faster than that 980XGL when inside Maya...

either that was a bad driver or something, or that card was on its last breath...

but anyway... :sniff: darn DOA cards
