A little more reference before I begin modeling the helmet... Ice-T never wears his helmet in plain view during the movie it seems, so I'll be referring to Deetee's helmet. I also noticed that T-Saint's costume varies slightly from the orthographic shots of the costume I have, so I'll have to adjust the model accordingly.

I guess everything is worth a watch. I watched the film recently and if I have to be honest, it was not very good.
I researched into it and the comic was kind of a cult comic book from the same people who concepted the 'gorillaz'. Soz dont know there names. This was a period when a few comics were turning into movies (like blade).
The producers tried to jump on the band wagon and chose tank girl and got the comic artists to also write the script. They of course had no experience with it and so the narrative really suffered. The film also suffered because it showed no resembelence to tank girl. So 'the golliaz guys' dew up a load of pictures that is randomly cut into the movie to tie it with the comic. Kind of like bat man and the 'pow!', 'boof!' ect.
After the film flopped the comics popularity grew as people decided to read the comic and found it quite good.

I have not had a chance to read it but it sounds random as hell. Every one dies all the time and such characters as tank girl, jet girl and sub girl.

The movie is definitely worth watching for it's ridiculousness and style, but the acting is just awful... except for Ice-T of course! Yea! (Naomi Watts was pretty neat as Jet Girl too)

I didn't know that the guys that did the Gorillaz videos drew Tank Girl! Interesting!

Unfortunately between moving into my new house and acquiring a brand new full time developer job, I was not able to get Ice T in before the plug... Next challenge I suppose.
I will still continue to polish him up, and will update at that time.
