Just wondering if any of you resident Wings masters have has any success using a Wacom Graphire (or Intuos) with Wings? Selections and tweaks work fine, but as soon as I try to rotate or dolly, there is just no control at all...it spins around at light speed. Have tried putting the pan speed down, but this doesn't help. I use just about all my software from Vegas to Cinema to Sonar with a pen and find it much quicker, so would love to do so with Wings! Zbrush in particular has sweet way of rotating your model , by left clicking outside of the model itself, but I know that aint possible in Wings.Any pointers would be faborama......Cheers

I've not tried it but I've heard it works if you set your stylus to mouse mode, or is that what you've done to get it to work at all?

Cheers Baz, that did the trick! Mouse mode takes a bit of getting used to on the tiny graphire pad, but still works nicely. I am now in tweaking nirvana with the new tweak mode combined with the pen....it is an almost religious !experience:bounce:

I've been asking for full wacom support on the wings development forums for a while now.

Maybe if a few more people expressed an interest....

Meantime mouse mode does get the job done.

And you're right, I love using Wings (or any 3d app with a wacom) - good feeling.

The problem is that esdl/SDL which wings uses as the underlying interface is built for games, which means that wacom support won't happen untill we rewrite it, which may take some time if
it ever will be done, so don't hold your breath.

What will wacom support give you anyway?
I do understand that it's usefull in a 2d painter but in wings??

Once you start using a wacom with 3d, particularly if you take advantage of some of the wacom functions, etc, you can really speed up you're workflow. Maya with a wacom is so much better. And so is Wings, although to a lesser degree.

But more importantly, it just feels better. I'll try and explain the feeling to have to go back to a mouse in sculpting terms.

Its like you're trying to sculpt away at a big hunk of rock, and someone takes away your chisels, so all you're left with is the hammer to try and carve out the form.

I may give my wacom a try with Wings. But I feel sure I will really miss having the 5 buttons and wheel that I have on my mouse.... Maybe it would help if I program the top stip of buttons on the tablet (?)
