This is just a female head I did while waiting for a render. Didn't take me too long. Under an hour, for sure. the wire clean-up took me about an hour or so I guess. Any comments, critiques, suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry about the crappy Jpeg quality. Larger images available upon request, and in whatever format you prefer.

Her eyes look like a test pattern. That's kind of funny if her character is lacking in intelligence.

Her ears are large but you may have been going for that so...Peace

wires look in place to me.my only crit is the proportion, it could do with a lil more tweaking. you can get some head ref pics over at fineart.sk

An hour? That's sick! ;). I'd be interested to hear what modeling method you use.

The proportions look pretty close to me (hard to tell without straight on and side shots). My only two comments both deal with the nose...

- the top of the nose, where it meets the brow area seems to be pinched too much.

- below the nose and bottom/center of it (the Philtrum and the part of the nose it connects to) looks too pointy/narrow. I would expect that channel to be more uniform, with less of a taper.

Nice work.

Yes that is just the XSI noicon image. I haven't textured anything as of yet, except for a preliminary spec map. I probably won't texture this character for a while, as I am now working on my demo reel, and this is just a side project. On the other hand, this head may end up taking the place of my main female character head somewhere down the road. Who knows. Now that I take a closer look at it, the ears are a little large. It was late last night, so I didn't realize. Thanx for pointing it out.

Yeah, fineart.sk seems to be down right now, for me anyway. None the less, I have lots of reference on disk, so I'll use that for now. Thanx. Any specifics on what you think could use some tweaking, other than the ears, and nose?

It doesn't matter what modeling method you use. The only thing that matters is that the end product is good. Whatever method you are comfortable working with is ultimately going to get you the better end product, so stick to it. Although, I do recommend expanding your horizons, and trying several different modeling methods, as well as never doing anything twice. Unless is works REALLY well for you. In this case, I grabbed a sphere, and started molding. Keep in mind, that the only reason I used a sphere was because it gives you three good lines to start with. And that's it. That can be easily achieved with a cube, it only takes a few extra minutes.

I will be posting updates as I work on her. Like I said, this is just something to work on while I am doing test renders of my demo reel. I'll post some head on, and profile shots later today. Probably after I do some work on the parts your guys pointed out to me. Thanx for your help guys. Check back later.

Hey guys, just a small update on the head. I am kinda taking it in a differant durection. Not demon like or anything like that, just using a friend as reference. Anyways, this is it as of today.
