Title: Flying Castles
Name: Greg Fromenteau
Country: Canada
Software: Photoshop

Hi all,

my last work, very inspired by "Howl's moving castle" of Miyasaki.
It was really interesting to blend some mechanichals shapes with a flying rock, i used a couple of brushes and some 3d cylinders for the wheels.
Hope you like it.

Hi!
Really nice sense of space and depth.
Pehraps that the "building" in the right foreground could be a bit darker, in order to increase the depth. (darker to bright) That's just my two cents!
Anyway, really good image.

Awesome! I'd be lying if I said I didn't love just about anything with gears, but this is truly a cool piece of art. I love the stylization, like the exaggerated perspective on the building, and the little curls on the clouds. Nice shades of green as well. 5 stars.

Thanks all for coments ! It's very appreciated !:)

arnocob » yes i have tried it but i lose a lot of details if it's too dark, so i keep this contrast ;)

Hey hi Greg,

Really nice work you have there... I like the athmosphere and the depth... Your background looks especially nice... And great choice of color too...

Hope to see some new stuff soon...

awesome piece, love the atmoshpere and concept. about the foreground building, to give the image more depth you can highten the conrast in the foreground building but still retain the detail, not just darken it. higher contrast will always move forward, thats why the central building appears to be slightly more prominant than the foreground right building, having said that the depth in the piece is already very nice. i love the colours too.

very nice piece, excellent work !

Excellent work! Awesome industrial-type designing. Reminds me of steampunk style.

The objects appear to have a fish-eye perspective curve to them (looks about 35mm range). Did you intend to do that, or are the building/objects supposed to have a bent run-down appearance?

hi FRENZIEDmind,
the buildings are supposed to have theses shapes, it was to make a little cartoonish style on the buildings ;-)
thks for you coment !
