Hello,

I've searched through the forums and it seems like people have only been able to accomplish this with the Storm Tracer plugin, but does anyone know of a way to control opacity over age of an instanced particle (geometry) using thinking particles?

Thanks much!

I just found out you can animate the visibility on the display tag of the object you are instancing to achieve this. Unfortunately this doesn't accommodate varying lifespans of particles. Anyone have a solution for that?

1. make 2 materials: one transparent, one visible.
2. put the transparent mat on the particle-object.
3. klick on the material tag, make a keyframe at "material"-tab in the AM.
4. go the the time when you wanna have the particles visible, and pull the second material (the visible one) into the "material"-tab and make a key again.

enjoy.
