Try using a softbodys with a goal of the modeled inpression.

1.Take orginal duplicate it and make the duplicate a softbody with a goal weight checked.

2.Model out the impression that you want in another duplicate of the original. Then select the softbody foam mattress and the modeled impression and go to Particle > goal.

3.This will add another goal object in the channel box of the softbody. All you have to do is then key the goal from goal_1 to 0 and goal_2 to 1. (Note :if it bounces to much take down the conserve on the softbody).
