ok, most of the crits are technical in nature. You ahve the fire selecter on the wrong side of the gun. the safe/fire/burst/auto/whatever it happens to be for your particular usage switch is operated by the thumb on the m4. The army operates under the assumption that you are right handed as do the people who make ar lowers.

second, you are missing the shell deflector between the ejection port, and the forward assist. Its a wedge shaped lump between the ejection port, and the button on the left side of the gun towards the back. It keeps hot brass from hitting you in the face.
here's a pic where you can see what I am talking about.

A minor crit is the scope mount, it should be wider than the base it is mounted too, but I can understand passing on that because of a polygon budget.

However, there are other major technical problems. namely the a2 carbine style handguard you ahve there is NOT what you use with an m203 grenade launcher. they use a boxy square shroud. They also do not use a flat-top upper with the m203, they use a carry handle upper.

(note in the picture below, the negative is reversed, notice the lack of an ejection port where it should be if it were correct)
http://www.bushmaster.com/le/images/Rifle_M203.gif

The reason for the handguard is two fold. First, if you don't use it, you wind up with a rifle that looks like this when you mount the m203

http://www.airsoftextreme.com/images/games/m4m203f.jpg

second, the handguard is what the m203 sights are mounted on.

The reason for the carry handle upper is because that is where the other half of the m203 sights are.

also, the m203 doesn';t jsut snap on and off. If you do take the launcher off, you not only keep the hasp you have on the barrel in the last picture, but you keep a flat bar along the bottom of the barrel. (i.e. the bit that prevents you from putting on the lower half of the hand-guard.

Of course you may not care about any of this. I'd at least put the fire controls on the correct side of the gun though.

thanks for the crits and pointers there raz-o, some if it will be added to the model and since your pointers where that good hehe im gonna change the handguard to two pieces so that I can remove the lower part when the launcher is attatched. Also yeah the safety stuff is on the wrong side. About the barell I knew about that one but decided not to touch in until I start texturing.

Il fix the scope mount to for ya :D

I want it realistic so pointers like this helps since I want to make a kick ass special operations short.

Razo helped with great comments, I thanks you for makeing the model more realistic. The only part I skipped was the bullet catcher thingy, since people usually shoot with right side and the bullets goes out that way. You see that alot in the army when people are jinxed shooters, they are black in the face after a shooting session. Just finished my norwgian tour of duty this year.

here are the updates on the M4

Worked some more on the textures and decided to put the default scanline render into action. Im gonna make some better lighted scenes later so you can see the whole magazine texture and so on.

This is 95% done, I got the handle left to skin + some more detailing on the bottom handguard.

Other than that its pretty much nearing its finish and then I start on the owner.

ChristArt,
Nice and clean I like that, as for the textures I would rather see some areas where it has been rubbed by something. I like the bumped and bruised look. Great Job
