View Full Version : QTVR Object cameras

Can anyone share a .blend or Wings scene containing a virtual QTVR OBJECT stage?

By that I mean, say, a set of 18 rings (columns) [distributed on Zonly, concentric around center] with 36 camera positions (Row images)? OK, link one camera to an Empty that's railing the rings (at 36 keys), always targeting the object center [gimbal-constrained "up"].

This would render 18 Rows of 36 Columns or 648 frames -=>simple output for QTVRobject.

I made one in XSI ten years ago and ?may not remember how to do it... surely this is out there somewhere in the community-- or perhaps this could be a challenge?

Thanks,
Craig Luce

This sounds something like Debevac's Actor method or something like the Matrix Trinity shot but with the camera in the center?

Please advise if this is what you have in mind.

However, I DID find a Blender script/scene for changing cameras instantly (in the tuts) that may be alterable, if I can also quickly learn French. :")

I use a PPC Mac, so I cannot use Voodoo.

thanks,
Craig

Prolly constrained to an Empty node.

COULD be done with one camera if constrained to an Empty node that travels the rings.

thanks,

I whipped up tiny script (uses script link) that sets camera coords based on given cage object (uv sphere in this case) based on current frame. You can find it at http://bebraw.googlepages.com/qtvr.blend . Note that you need to enable script links for it to work.

I was not totally sure what kind of sphere should be used for QTVR. However it should be easy to modify the mesh as desired.
