Title: A Comparison of Windows
Name: Tarik Hamilton
Country: USA
Software: 3ds max, Photoshop, VRay
(copy and pasted from my DeviantART)
My first finished life-like and second finished render in 3DS Max ever and it came out not too bad! The original intention of the picture was to have the view of Windows on the monitor to appear more three-dimensional, as if you can go inside it. But I think this was limited by the perspective, which I thought would add to the picture (the fish-eye). The original render is 2000x1500, and I had to crop most of it away to get what I originally intended to be shown.
Render time was about 40-60 minutes. There are actual two renders of the scene, one was darker and one was lighter. I used both and masked them in Photoshop, it's very subtle though. The Windows was a separate render done. Also too 50 minutes due to it having over 200,000 blades of grass.
