View Full Version : Tennis Player Animation
Yavorsky 08-03-2008, 05:13 PM Hello,
I have recently finished animating a tennis player for a school project. The project was one person do a serve and return while the other person does two returns. I chose to do two returns. Please let me know if anything sticks out to you; any comments and critiques are welcome. Thank you for your time.

Nice animation. i like it. u can try to make it more presentable by adding some movements in the camera like we see during live telecast.

Sagargears, thank you for the comments. I have been researching some camera movements and I will be adding some slight movements in the next few days. I didn't get to add that since I ran out of time for turn in, but now I can go back and edit the animation. Any other comments and critiques are welcome. Thank you for your time.

Being a lover of Tennis myself, you clearly score big with realistic and sharp movements. This is engaging to the eye and illustrative of your talent at key framing good motion with an accurate understanding of the subject matter.

well done yavorsky, nice movement, especially the feet placement and his "bouncing rythm", i wish the video was longer but good job anyway

I don't have any critiques over the actual animation because from what I can tell it looks spot-on. However, if you're considering being an animator going into CAP, maybe see about changing up the scene so it could potentially look nice for your demo reel. The cheesy staggered audience in the back could be replaced, add in some nice camera movement like sagargears suggested, and maybe work with some depth of field.
Also, it'd be kinda sweet to render it at 60fps so you can slow it down in post and use more of a "slow-motion" replay to really let the viewer see all the work you put into the feet movement. It happens so fast that most people may not catch all the subtle pivots you used. Good luck on your future projects. :buttrock:
