make a raytrace mat, set reflections to fresnel, make it 95% transparent, then set it to 2-sided, hit apply mat, hit render. u should be set

Ok, I tried what you wanted, but my results aren't that successful. How do I set my glass up to be more transparent?

i think its all black because ur background is all black, try putting an image in as ur background.
in the raytrace mat, there is a transparency setting, i forget if its a color swatch or a percentage. if its color, make it white, if its a percentage, make it like 95% transparent.

Well you see, the original diffuse color of the bottle is black. Just a little FYI. Ok...off to redo it. Thanx.

hi
the glass depends a lot on the environment it can reflect. I guess that's why it got that black.
I'm trying to do a glass as realistic as possible atm and came across two quite helpful tutorials:
one at 3dkingdom.org (http://www.3dkingdom.org/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=245&mode=thread&order=0&thold=0)
and the other one
at studiolounge.net (http://studiolounge.net/index.php?name=caustics&left=sub-nav-tutorials).
Hope that helps!
