Just finished a logo animation for Imaginaishion Productions.

I thought it turned out pretty good and was VERY fun to work on.

If Quicktime is whats opening these then I'd highly suggest you pick another player. Windows Media Player, VLC, real etc. Quicktime on Windows is not so great as of late.

I tried to post a write-up I made about how I did everything but CGTalk is telling me I can't upload that many pictures. Bit of a bummer. Its all on my blog (http://www.eggington.net/%7Eblog/?p=96) though so. . . if you have any questions about the process I went through to make it you can go over there and read up. Please let me know if I haven't covered something and I'll try and get more specific. Withing reason. . .

Awesome work there Billy, you really are a one man messiah wrecking crew. Lots of good stuff in there. The shader flow is quite sick. My favorite part is the recoil of the match when it hits.

A great job, Wegg! And it surely is a great example of messiah's power and flexibility.

Maybe see if it can be run as a tutorial...or in one of the 3D Stills submissions....perhaps that would allow a selection of stills. Of course, as I have seen done in the modeling forum, you could simply attach an image or two at a time in a couple different posts as you answer questions.

Thanks for making the video and the info on your blog available to us.

I especially like the shading displayed during the travel through the head of the match.
For a brief moment it reminded me of 2001 A Space Odyssey's "Star Gate" imagery.

fwiw, I use Media Player Classic with Quicktime Alternative installed and the HD mp4 file plays back smoothly on my old school 2.8Ghz P4 machine.

Since Wegg mentioned it, what IS up with QT player? What are the issues?

I really don't know. For a few years now even plain, low resolution mpeg 1 movies have stuttered in Quicktime. It doesn't get any more low-tech than that. . . It seams Apple concentrate on the codecs they promote and ignore compatibility with any other more "open" solutions. Very Microsoft like if you ask me.
