This is an illustration to the story "Tributary to Nebelring" of Russian fantasy writer Vera Kamsha.
Duke Rudolf Rotbart enters the church where his sister in law and his nephew are hiding. The wolves are on the watch for their victims but they don't to cross the threshold of the church.
The main challenge was the lighting - I have two light sources here, the bluish moon from behind and orange candle light from the front.
