SUUUUP!

I was wondering if anyone could help me out
with creating comic-style coloring
the likes of which you'd see in Top Cow comics or done by
Joe MAD!/Liquid (those guys rock)
any way
i've looked at a few tutorials online but just haven't gotten much out of them
any help at all would greatly be appreciated

You might consider Illustrator 10 and the mesh gradients. The big upside to this approach is that once you have created it you can then output it to any size.

well have a look at tha video tutorial of machall
