I've been doing too much motion graphics lately, but i want to start practicing some character animation. Any feedback in improving my work will be much appreciated..

Seems to me like before the "I do" the facial animations were not exaggerated at all, and looked like he was mumbling more than what you were lip syncing off of. I suggest a bit wider, slightly more exaggerated look. not over exaggeration just enough so we can see that the words are supposed to be coming out of his mouth.

Yours missing "think" right now, the character isn't moving his mouth at all during this line also you need to push the "do" much more, this is the main accent in the dialog and you have an opportunity to exaggerate the shape and maybe add head shake as well or something else to really push this

An Update (http://3dmworks.com/11sclub/moom_godspel8.mov)...

This is just a general tip on doing lips syncs and mouth movements in general. when we are talking, we dont open and close our mouths for every word, with the speed most of us talk at it isnt possible. what are you shooting for is more of a transition between the shapes the mouth makes as its moving from one shape to another. Right now you have this word, close, word, close, word, close thing going on which is giving your character this mushmouth kind of feeling. I would just go ahead and look in the mirror and look at yourself saying the line in time with the audio (dont slow down your speech) and you will see that you are getting a lot of transitions in there without closing your mouth and maybe even getting various sounds with one shape only slightly altered once you see yourself doing it in real time you will get more of an idea of where this will need to go. I hope this turns out well it will be a fun little piece.

The mouth is traveling too far between frames 14 & 15, which makes it look like a pop. The first half is out of sync and doesn't look like your hitting the right shapes "and they don't think" Try filming reference of youself and studying it.

Thanks Kyle, I do have some reference... someone pointed out the same "And I don't think" in another forum and that the first 50 frames were off sync. Now I can understand clearly what I was not seeing... I'll post another update later today...
