hey all!

my mesh looks fine when not smoothed as the perspective viewport shows, however when i smooth it and render the mesh it looks messed up as the green circle shows in my picture:

It's because you have a triangle, an Ngon, or a very very tight set of loops terminating at a point. It's difficult to tell. I think you actually may just have an orphaned vertex or 2..but we shall see.

You seem to have a particularly acute problem, as you have a pole, an Ngon, or a few triangles all coming together at one point. You'l have to either re-route those loops, or find a way to ease the tension of that area.

If you could post a tight close-up of just that area unsmoothed, we may be able to furnish a solution.

well i think i just figured out my problem, i wouldn't necessariy call it an orphaned vertex, yet a vertex just needed to attach itself somewhere, a few more cuts and it looks good

Well, then it's an NGon issue. Could'nt tell from the pic.

Glad you got it worked out.
