View Full Version : silk-screen texture/rendering?!?

I'm looking to render out an animation with a 2D look--but not the typical cell shading. I am interested in a more sloppy silk screen look in which the colors are offset a bit. Is there a way to achieve this effect in 3D Max?

The look is sort of a mix between this:

and this:

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Offhand I'd say use a compositing package afterwards. Say like After Effects or Combustion. Take each of the R,G & B channels of the rendered bitmaps and offset them. Or you could take the overall luminance and offset it 3x, giving each copy a different hue.

Might be some goofy filter way in Videopost. Dunno. But you'd be best off doing it in post IMO.
