View Full Version : TP - Offset an animated particle

Hey all

I have what I thought would be a quick particle effect to set up, but have come undone a little with this problem...

I have an animated butterfly which flaps its wings over a 25 frame sequence which loops (no problems there!). I have then created a TP storm and got hundreds of the little things flying out from the emitter. BUT... It looks very un-natural haveing all the hundreds of litter critters all beating their wings in perfect uinson!

Is there a way to offset or randomise there wing beats.

The Wing beat animation is set up using xpresso controlled by a float slider bar.

If some1 can help me out here I would be well grateful.

Many thanks

use multyshape example and have many butterflys with diferent animation offset.

Thanks for the advice, another job off the list!

Another option is to bake the animation, then change either the age on creation or the life time randomly. If you also modify DT you can make them slower or faster.
