This is very good and welcome news.
I was hoping to buy this and use it to create a catalog database using Expression Media (formerly iView Media Pro).
C4DQuickLook creates a folder of previews (in the root/Library/AppSupport/User/folder) and each jpeg preview with the proper filename, that can be included with the c4d scene file Archive and then cataloged. Since all my digital assets are cataloged with Expression Media, I no longer have to also launch C4D just to preview files.
This plugin fills in the missing piece of the Digital Asset Management (DAM) puzzle and is worth it's weight in gold. (IMHO).

I like the new installer. Very convenient.
v1.4 is working very well now, with one notable exception;
Unfortunately, this new version no longer draws previews for .obj, .3ds and .lwo as did prior versions. I hope this will be added back in. In C4d (and QuickLook.app) I have View>Cinema 4D Scene Files, >Other 3D Scene Files, >Other Known File Formats, and >Unknown File Formats, checked in the Content Browser View Menu. And in Browser Preferences; Preview Timeout > 304, and Preview Size > 400.
And finally, each format (obj, lwo, 3ds) has QuickLook.app as the assigned Application in the Get Info "Open With..." pane in the Finder. But none of this helps. :curious:
I hope this feature, that of building previews for every format that the C4D Browser can read, returns, as it was a real time saver.
But even without this, the plugin is an invaluable aid for archiving c4d scenes in an external asset cataloger.

I can't get this to work. I wonder where I am going wrong?
I copied the C4D app, renamed to Quicklook, I think it is in a different folder, does it need to be in the same folder?
Thanks,
-Jim

Hi! :)
Yes, you have to copy the Cinema 4D.app (renamed to quicklook.app) into the c4d folder.

The new version (1.4) is working perfectly now. :applause:
It will put jpeg previews of c4d scene files into a matching folder hierarchy. This make for a handy solution for a glaring omission from the C4d Content Browser. Which is; an ability to export thumbnails for DAMs (Digital Asset Managers) like Expression Media or Extensis Portfolio.
I'm hoping that the other formats that the Content browser can read will also be supported in the future. But for now I'm happy just with the c4d format solution.
With the C4dQuickLook plugin, C4d, Leopard, and a low cost DAM like Expression Media; I can open any 3D format that C4d can read (which is a lot) save as .c4d, create a logical Archive folder hierarchy, browse the folders and let the plugin do it's thing. Then I can copy all the previews that it makes and place them along with the c4d scene file. The plugin maintains the same hierarchy and duplicates the scene file name, so that in the Asset Manager (DAM) the thumbnail associated with the 3d file has the same name and is easily retrievable.
This is very powerful solution for a studio like mine that has thousands of 3d files archived in a resource library.
It certainly makes for a much cheaper solution than, say, Alienbrain, which costs at least $1200 per year and is targeted to workgroups, not so attractive for a 1-3 man shop.
