Title: White Shark - National Luxology Channel
Name: David Solito
Country: Luxembourg
Software: Modo, Photoshop

Hi, This is my first post on Cgtalk.

I tryed to make with this piece a "TV documentary" look and feel. I want to make more "shots" with my virtual shark and complete a serie.

This is a work I deed with modo.
Box modeled with images references in modo.
Painted with photoshop and modo painting tools
and finaly composed in photoshop.
I know, there is a lot of work to do to be photorealistic but i am happy with the result. Comments are welcome!

I like it, you definitely pulled off the look you were going for. Though the DOF is a bit distracting for me. It pulls my attention towards the gills....and when staring at a shark the gills are one of the last things I'd be worried about. I'd be focused on the face as the only 2 things I'd be worried dabout are located there. The teeth...for obvious reasons, and the eyes so that if something should happen I've got a kill switch that once hit will stop the attack in its tracks.

Haha, I just learned that on Mythbusters the other day. i used to be of the crowd that thought punching them in the nose would save your life. Nope, you're more likely to incite a bite from a curious shark than scare off a would be attacker doing that. The only sure fire way to stop a shark in its tracks is hitting the eyes. Unless, of course, you see a dolphin, then all you gotta do is hope the shark sees the dolphin. RUN FOREST RUN!!! lol. (sorry...rant got a bit outta hand.)

Good work, you captured the effect of the light through water nicely.
