View Full Version : export to Maya with materials?

Hi Everyone,

very soon I'm going to need to export a polygon model for a client to import and view in Maya. I've had pretty good luck in the past with .obj going from C4D to/from MAX, but I noticed today that my Cinema export didn't preserve the material assignments when I got it into MAX. The obj export plugin I use with MAX has the option to export materials (and it works), does anyone know if there's a way to set up the C4D export to preserve the material assignments. I don't need anything to fancy, I just want the textures to show up in the right place without the Maya client having to do any extra steps.

Donīt know if Helge Mathee has solved the problems he had with Maya - worth sending an e-mail and ask.
