from what i understand these are realtime shaders for the nvidia stuff. it's a buidl in part now of maya and you can use any of them inside.

but don't ask me how to.. didn't got to that stuff now

In the devkit of maya 5.0 you can find 13 files that reffer to CgFx.
If you want to use them you have to compile them first, or go download Maya 5.0 BonusTools.

http://www.aliaswavefront.com/en/Tmpl/Maya/html/index.jhtml?page=/en/Community/Download/plug_ins/maya_bonus_tools.html

Download the ZIP file and in there you can find the already compiled versions. I never used them, so i can't tell you more about it.

Good Luck

It is a shader language for Nvidia cards. You can find more about it here: http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?IO=cg

How I can load this plugin?

well, you'll simply have to activate cgfxshader.mll in the plugins manager to make cGshaders available from inside hypershade! :)

realtime shaders are intended for games...so unless you are a games developer with a team of programmers to integrate the 3d graphics into a 3d engine these shaders wont have any significant value over the default shaders in maya.

Another is that it gives lots of options for fast hardware-based rendering. The whole point is that it means that the hardware shaders are not limited to games. Since Maya 5's hardware renderer offers stuff like shadows and anti-aliasing, this seems like a great way to be able to do cool things without having to wait for long renderings.

of course victor.....but doubtless the results will not be congruent...which doesnt matter if you just want to slap something together while you work.

Am i wrong or are these shaders only functional with the latest grafx cards?

They are and they aren't.

If you get the directx sdk, you can emulate the vertex and fragment shaders on just about any hardware...
