View Full Version : Weekly Animation Session 2 - Run

SheepFactory

Welcome to the second weekly animation session.

This weeks topic is: Run

New animators should focus on making a vanilla run and focus on the mechanics while experienced animators should do a run with character. You can have it loop or have the character run across the screen it is up to you.

You can use free rigs\biped\etc.

Please upload your videos to vimeo (www.vimeo.com) and post a link here if you need free video hosting.

Good luck everyone and dont forget to post your wip's in this thread.

Second pass.
Nice little animation sessions to keep up the skills. Keep it up!
Would be nice if there is a video hosting site that let's you go frame by frame. Much easier to critique that way.

you can click "download quicktime version" at the right bottom corner of vimeo... Like that you can see it frame by frame...

Nice start Chris. I think you should add at least 2 more steps to the animation so we can see the run better or just loop it. Right now it is a bit too short. Can't wait to see more.

somewhere I'm not really satisfied with how she runs... i wanted it to be more floaty and happy...
anyway, i will look at it again tomorrow with fresh eyes...

Newest pass!

Spent most of my time fixing problems with my rig.

nice, but i would make the contact point (where he lands and launches himself again) less long. Now it's like he does a little jump everytime...

Pretty close to being done. I still have to offset and check some of the arcs. I'm thinking about adding some butterflies floating around him or a necklace or hair for secondary animation.

I didn't get passed blocking due to being crazy at work this week. :( I am going to finish this in the next week though, and I plan to keep doing these.

So, I'm only a week late. Not bad, that beats my average. You guys are throwing up some awesome stuff. I had some time tonight, so I put together a fun little run. Still very rough, but it will have to stay that way.

Just a fun little zombie run to look at. Al crits and comment welcome. I know the right hand is jacked, but I'll fix it in about a year:)

hey Ankheilw. Could you make your vimeo clip unprivate because it won't let me view it. I did the same thing. It makes whatever you upload private for some reason ty.
