View Full Version : How is this made?
DiiLMaN 07-28-2008, 02:02 PM Hello ;)
Im new at this forum , and i've got a question i wish u could answer.
How is this effect made?:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=7RtK-ayJ5lg (http://youtube.com/watch?v=7RtK-ayJ5lg)
I've asked the owner of the video and this is what he said:
__________________________________________________ ___________
The particular settings are pretty basic, basically just increased the number of generated particles from the default setting.
Try using the caustics effect and use the same layer as the water map on itself. Mess around with the settings and you should have it.

But i didnt get it. Please help me with this effect! =)

Hmm? What part? The rain? The hose spray? The raindrops on the lens? Not sure what you mean.

Yes - what part? The rain is a particle setting, but the spray coming out of the house might be something different (like composited video or cg rendering from RealFlow). More specifics please.

ah sorry guys i forgot to tell wich part.. i mean the water bursting out of the wall!
Hmm. Im not sure its realflow. cuz the maker of the video said that he used trapcode particular.

That should be possible without much trouble. Use a directional emitter or a light emitter (spot light), then set the Particles/ sec. to crazy high values like 10000 or so. Keep the particles small and use some decent randomness on their Life parameter. This will provide some structure. For the color, use Random from Gradient and create a mostly white gradient with some grey and lightblue areas. With that in place, you only need to adjust the Velocity of the particles and physics parameters for gravity and so on. You may also wish to use some Turbulence for further variation. If you render with motion blur, you can reduce the number of particles considerably.

ok thanx.. i'll try to do that.
but how is these particles made (in the red cirkle)... that they dont fly their own way . they are king of flying together .. they kind of fly together
i dont know how to explain..

Kinda looks like Trapcode FORM if you ask me. At least the particles spraying outwards to the sides. The gushing spray also has sort of a form feel to it, due to the whole liquidy movement. It all looks too fluidy, if you get what I mean.
