Hello all

I have one question...

I was thinking about how to achive realistic light in segments of scene I want, for example street light, room light and all...

and than I realized, when I use for example VrayLight plane and set multiplier to 2.0, it for example brightens 3 meters in scene, and it burns first half meter... and this isn't the effect I want to achive, and than I was thinking, when I see a light in my room, it has for example intensity of 1 and the light spreads for 7 meters... no burning the wall (texture), so is there any way in max to adjust that light for example has intensity of 1 (no burnign the texture), and that I can adjust how long it will throw light, let's say for 10 meters, meaning it's intensity after 5 meters will be 0.5, and on 10 it will be 0, something to controll lights...

because like this if I set a vraylight sphere on a street lamp, it in real world spreads the light for aproximatly 40 meters, and here, to achive 40 meters I need to overburn 5 meters of the sceene that light goes there...

Is my knowledge week in this segment, is there really an answer to this, or do I have to deal with fill in lights to achive that effect.

thanks

Look up 'linear workflow'(LWF), and 2,2 gamma.

Cant really think of eny direct links right now.
