Hi there,

Taking a look at your work, it shows some promise. However, I would seriously consider learning some animation principles such as timing and weight - which you don't seem to quite have a grasp on quite yet. Your lip-sync work shows that you should be able to learn this when you get the right learning material.

I would advise you grab a copy of 'The Illusion of Life', 'The Animator's Survival Kit', and 'Learning Character Animation with Jeff Lew' for starters.

Also, watch your keyframes. A lot of them still look like they're left in stepped and jerk around a bit. This was particularly noticeable in the old man walk at the start of your reel. You need to make sure you use stepped when you absolutely need to, or when blocking out.

Keep learning. Keep doing animation exercises. I don't think animators ever stop learning their craft. Good luck!

Yep, it's promising but like Obraxis said... You need to work on the timing and spacing. It seems slow, and the weight isn't worked out. Keep animating and you will learn many many things.

I'm a beginner and therefor I'm not on the characteranimation; This because I know that the fundamentals are very important. So try some timing, spacing, weight and other things on easy objects. Like a sphere or so. It's easier and you will learn alot.

You can also buy some tutorials from Jason Ryan at jasonryananimation.com
He uses his character Boris very soon, from tutorial 2, but he hamers at the fundamentals. And that's what's very important.

Keep animating mate. It will all comes out fine. That's what I learned till now ;)
