hi-
I would like to set up 10 or 15 renders at once, and be able to queue them and walk away.

I am using the beta of brazil, and need to get higher rez than 1024x768 (beta limit) for the Expose Book entry.

someone recommended using the region blowup render function, but i would love to set them all up at once, and then go off to work.

any ideas? I only know how to render one image at a time using this Blowup function.

thanks

AFAIK region render doesn't work with public Brazil, precisely to stop people gettijng around that intentional limitation.

But, the answer to your main question is to set up network rendering on a single PC and send all the jobs to the manager. I'm not going to type out the procedure, you can get that from the docs, but all you need is your PC's "name" and your OS must be either 2K or XP.

Howdy !

If you're using Brazil Test version, then you might want to consider rendering with Lightracer in Max 5 ? You may get about the same results, and won't have size limitations.
Just an idea, i figured since you're using the Test version, there is nothing much in it that Max could not somehow match as far as quality goes.

As for network rendering, then Iain said it.

i was using the lightracer before, but i had 3 issues:

1) i had Brazil materials in use. i figured that did not work with the lightracer.

2) I knew how to use brazil and i sort of fumble through Lightracer

3) brazil renders FAST, even the beta is faster than my regular max renders...i imagined that the lightracer was even slower, no?

there is a script that comes with your friendly max that does just that. Load it and just feed it and thats all.

seems like that script is for rendering multiple files or cameras, no?

i need to render a single scene with multiple "Blowup regions"

you could setup a local network rendering manager server, and just queue all the scenes in there

GAH!

I am in trouble. it seems that the brazil test makes it impossible to render multiple BLOWUPS. it only renders the middle chunk and that is it!

I am trying to render my piece for the Expose book and only have 1 day left.

As far as I can tell, Brazil will not work, and none of the techniques described above will work with rendering multiple brazil blowups to stitch together for 1 large render.

HELP!

I have no idea how it will work with Brazil but take a look at sfnr (http://magicm.cgcommunity.com/index.php?page=maxscripts) .

Also, if you could get a hold of design extention (offered free to subscribtion customers afaik) it has this capability as well and I assume it would work with network rendering.
