View Full Version : Exporting into FBX with animation clips as takes.
CalQdeX 07-26-2008, 06:28 AM Hi, I am trying to work out an animation pipeline for an independent game, we would like to use fbx as it is the easiest to implement code wise.
I can't find a away to export animation so that it converts clips into fbx's takes.
Does anyone know how to do this?
Does anyone have a successful fbx animation pipeline?

Hi
In my experience the .FBX format is usually used exclusivley via its native package, Motionbuilder, as a way to get animation information directly into a game pipeline. We used to use it to take in animations from both MAX and Maya, bring them into Motionbuilder, clean up and export into our pipeline (probably via a bespoke game format)
I guess you could bake out clip info onto a rig? Not had much experience but I will ask an old colleague who is pretty up on this
cheers
