refreshed from my holidays back i've made a new render.
the scene has only one directlight and a outdoor hdr map
for the light.rendertime on my old lady p3/866 3hours. rendered with max/vray

looks pretty good, if I were to change anything is to make that rug softer and same with the bed texture, seems a little too rough.

very nice! but you should work a bit more on the carpet... it has too long a fur
