murnau 07-25-2008, 09:53 PM well, I've imported in Z-brush a model after set up the UVs in maya. Now after I've worked for hours with this model the result of z-mapper when I try to create normal maps is this!!!

Some other attempts and I had understand that the problem is to use z-mapper with polygroups! Any advice? I simply click on "UV groups" and turn on the wire-frame, then ctrl_shift on one piece of geometry and use zmapper :-(

you must check your uvs for any overlaps... even the tiniest overlap will cause an error like this. Also you must ensure that your uvs are in 0-1 space and not outside it.

no the uv's are ok, because for experiment I have used a simple cube and placed each single face in a 0-1 space, then I've exported in zbrush and increase the number of polys.
