View Full Version : Motion blur with fluids
Angelus26 05-29-2003, 07:28 AM I have a problem with Maya (default software renderer) not rendering motion blur for a fluid when it above an object, could anyone shed some light on this and why it happens. Basically everything is blurred until the fluid runs over the object at which point it's sharp again.
This pictures shows the result:

Could you explain that image more? I'm not sure which parts are fluid/object etc
Sorry!

okay, sorry bout that, I update it with a better picture, as you can see, the water over the object isn't blurring while the rest of the frame is blurring corrrectly.

Angelus...I know fluid FX take quiet awhile to render, And it seems me as though you have the fluids animating at blurred pace (Yes..Definatly looks like the entire fluid is moving) and part of that object is sticking out of the fluids.
Besides...If that object was passing by the camera fast enough to create a blurr like that..Then the entire body would appear smeared. Iv'e seen hardware act strange due to graphics card failure which caused renders to be just as strange.
