View Full Version : Render for Wings 3D projects
armaghedron 05-29-2003, 03:11 AM Can anyone suggest a renderer (a free one would be best) that I could use for my projects made with Wings 3D?

yafray and povray are the most popular ones.
I think you can use the prman compliant renderers by using Kayos's rib export plugin , dunno if he completed it yet though.

I haven't figured out how to work POVRAY yet but I figured it would probably work.
Thanks!

Right now the latest version of wings only renders to yafray as far as I know,
as it's the only of the export plugs to be included in the main app...
It's also gotten pretty good lately...lights and modulators and even some procedurals are in there now.
So,I'd give yafray a try,at least if you want to use 0.98.10.
You can get yafray 0.0.4 here:

Thanks for the additional info dAfTiE and MukMan!
To dAfTiE: Do you know where I can download that 0.98.10 version of yafray? I suppose I'll find it myself but in case i can't... :)
To MukMan: I'll give a Pixie a try.

He was referring to the 0.98.10 version of wings. The latest Yafray release is 0.0.4.
