Hello friends! :wavey: I thought a proper introduction would be nice (if not necessary) I am Jester capp, and I hope to be beating around these forums for a good long time. I'm not nearly a profesional, I'm a friggin high School Freshmen. :buttrock: I just got the XL bundle of version 8 ($290- GOD I luv student discounts!) and I have no idea what I'm doing. The most advanced software I've handled thus far is fairly old (Any1 remember Infini-D?) and I'll be needing help alot. :arteest: Please forgive me for my ignorance (I'm prone to mixing up Xpresso and MOCCA- hey, they both make me thirsty!), but I learn fast. Also, may I say everything I've seen on this sight is AMAZING!  I'll try to give constructive criticizm, but mostly I'll be making like this little guy -> So, oh great ones, what words of wisdom do you have for your espiring protege (or any begginer for that matter)?

Hee- smilies are great...

hmm my words of wisdom would be to send me money when ever possible.

I would greatly appreciate it.

other than that work hard stay focused and don't let girls take your mind off the job at hand.

unless they are frickin hot that is.

welcome to the club or (cult). I like it we are a cult however i don't think that the Rev would appreciate it much.

Hey, great to meet you! Also, could people do me the giant favor of naming any good Design schools they can think of? I guess I'm thinking too far ahead, but I'm going to need some idea of where to apply to in 3-4 years!

Thanks again!

hmm I think you would have to move away from canada to find any hot girls. Just kidding I happen to know two cute little blonde chicks that are living in Canada against their will. Its totally unjust so what if they forgot to renew there green cards. Its not like two cute blondes are gonna hurt us. Hmmph all the blondes in the world can move to the US as far as I care. So what about discrimination I want more blondes.

anyway yeah That RTFM guy stands for

Read The F*** Manual just so you know jester.

Lol yes, i gathered as much. I will indeed RTFM, however it's rather long (+1000 pages??? :surprised) Also, I only get an electric manual because of the student deal I got. Still, I will refrence it often! Oh, and just checking, you CAN make an animation longer than 90 frames, right? RIGHT???:curious: Just a little problem I have...

Yeah, social safety nets and low crime suck. I bet they can't wait to get back down south.

jester.

edit/project settings.

problem solved.

and rocarpen they can't wait to get back down here thank you very much. We believe in civil liberties which of course means that for the sake of a higher ideal we will have slightly higher crime. Thats what most folks don't understand America was founded on high ideals not common sense.

Ya don't say, the simple fact that they call the republic a democracy shows they are built on ideals, as is canada.

Civil liberties and John Ashcroft do not mix. Of course, I don't suppose that's a problem so long as you're white, blonde, and not Muslim, right?

:thumbsdow

In any case, sorry for bringing politics into the C4D forum. No more...

WELCOME JESTER:thumbsup:  :bounce: :applause:
This is a GREAT place to learn and hang out- so visit often, and stay as long as you like...

A couple of items need clarification though...
a) The money for JIII goes through Kaiskai from your deposit to my paypal account:twisted:

b) about the cult thing... I wouldn't worry too much about it. I've heard there is a little herecy in all of us at times :buttrock: (church humor...;) )

anyway... WELCOME! (and yes... do read the (censored) manual... it definitely helps!)

read the manual twice...imho, i did and i'm still having trouble knowing what to do...then we moved to R8!! and a new set of manuals....also do the tutorials..for r7 and r8 both very good...along with useful tuts on maxons site..

other than that welcome to cgtalk hope you enjoy it here..people are friendly and helpful on here you may find unlike other forums i can't name for fear of offense! heh heh.

have fun very important...and enjoy every minute of it...and lastly you only get out of life what you put in.(bit deep today)

personally i don't think you can go wrong with an intro and attitude like that and a bit of enthusiam...you should be well away.

(as for the cult thing...well once you have fielded all the questions or knockers out there on C4D case it will feel like youre in a cult...only thing different is "free will" when using cinema....but then cults usually have free love or something else going for them...if your a guru or something...heh heh...:banghead: )

hmm kotayus wonder who did make that site.

must have taken a great talent, and years of intense struggle with the inner demons that confront us all.

Hey, Emberghost! Yes, I will proceed with caution. BTW, what age are you, and whats your previous experience? We might be able to learn from each other and bounce some ideas off one another! I'm a freshmen from MA, I've been doing modeling and animation with Bryce 4 (pretty basic) since i was 12. I'm now taking a course in school, and that rules. I might post one of my animations soon, if I can find a way to get it online...
