HeY!Jason,
I love that your cartoony style of work...this is something im trying to emulate in my animation work too!!
I just love the characters from Myopia, and especially the craneing of the neck from side to side....makes me laugh every time i think of it!!

Spectaculat work :bounce: :bounce:
The character animation is some of the best I have seen.
You gave the character the proper emotion based on the performacne of the actor.
I could easily picture Jim Carrey from Dumb and Dumbmer with that little skit you did.
All of your performances were right on the money.
You should have no problems getting a job, if you do then I am in a world of trouble.
Great Job

:thumbsdow Jason Taylor is a horrible, horrible animator. His work shows no originality at all. I mean, come on, we've all seen this kind of thing a million times (mostly in the classic Disney and Warner Brothers aniamtion)!!
Oooo how exciting!! Give me a break. Animation done by the computer should be about robots and boxes and stuff like that. No one wants to see polygons and NURBS that don't stay rigid.
He has a lot of anticipation in his animation... especially during the download!! This thing's taking FOREVER!!
He frames his shots so that you can clearly see what's going on. BORING!! Where are the camera fly throughs and jerky camera moves?
What happened to floaty animation or characters who's motion is so jerky that the characters arms and legs pull away from the IK handles? This kind of thing helps make computer animation funny. This stuff doesn't have those kind of laughs.
Jason's got too much happening in his animation. It makes my head hurt! Floppy ears and tales take my eyes away from the mouth (which is too complicated anyway).
My advice? Add some lens flares and some chrome...maybe some techno.
:thumbsdow Good luck finding a job in animation... you'll need it!
;)

I agree with Floyd. Jason Taylor's animation sucks. This is by FAR the worst piece of crap demo reel I've EVER seen. I mean, sheesh, look at all that cartoon action! Appealing character designs, with such nice, pastel colors, too. Puh-leeze. Where's the toon shading? Where's the robots? Where's the texture maps and volume lighting? Where are the paintFX trees? Where's the gothic dark environments?
This is clearly not what you would call good computer animation.

ps: for the sarcasm impaired, the above is just a joke. I love Jason's work. He just needs a stout beating every day or he gets out of line. ;) And no, I'm not bagging on that other stuff either.

strick9: Thats me! Man that was aweful. :) what are you up too?
dutch: Thats Yo La Tengo. My musician friend is currently doing a score and folley for the last bit with the cliff. I'll post it here when he is done.
Floyd Freaking Bishop: I'm so sorry! half way threw my demo reel creation my lens flare generator broke. Its in the shop now. Just give me time... I'll have it up[ to your liking soon enough. :)
Qslugs: WOW! Everyone that i have lost touch with is coming out of the woodworks! very cool. I'm looking for freelance stuff and I'm willing to relocate for the right full-time job.
ninjacore: Thanks for the kind words. Floyd just know good animation when he sees it! ;)

Beautiful stuff. Real heart.
This isn't a criticism, but I was wondering for your next set of great animations, could you use some original scripting? The problem I find with seeing lip sync done to a movie line is I think too much about the character that originally said the line, rather than feeling the true character the animator is trying to portray.
You mightent be a voice actor, but I'd love to see some of your own short segments of wit coming out of your characters' mouths. Maybe you've got a friend that could do it.:D
Again, this isn't a criticism, I really do love the way you do it, and the characters contrast well with the voices they're speaking, but you obviously have a good sense of humour, so it would be interesting to see what else is up in that talented brain of yours!!:D
