Hey dude... Great to see it finally finished! Congrats.
The lighting looked pretty nice. Good texturing... The mermaid's hair was pretty awesome too... haha. The body could use some work though - as well as her shaders and textures... but all in all -it was a good reel! You should be proud!
(And my name was front and center on the creds list... hahah!!! sweet. lol.)
Keep it up man - and all the best in the future 3d career... Keep on workin hard at it!
Bless.

I've been watching a lot of reels lately with contemplating what college to go to, possibly leaving the Art Institute to go somewhere else and I have to say that this reel was really refreshing. It was really a breath of fresh air to see a reel that wasn't just a series of turn-table animations showing wireframes of models. Placing your models in a well lit, well composed scene shows the studios and us other artists that you've got a true eye for composition, color and a great talent to create a "feeling" in a scene. And any modeler out there will tell you, especially set designers that it's all about creating a mood in your artwork and that shows very strongly throughout your models. I have to admit, I've seen this in a few VFS modeling reels already and I'm really impressed. Excellent work, and good luck with the job hunt! Keep us posted. :)
Hey Kevin , a big Congrats on finishing dude.I can see alot of hard work and blood went into this(literally ..hahah)..It looks great and original .Best of luck on the job hunt.

Some great environments and definitely a refreshing modeling reel. Might want to make the mermaid wire frame visible for a bit longer and easier to see since it only appears for a short time and is masked in a small area. Maybe place the wireframe over an ambient occlusion pass perhaps. Overall good work and good luck with the job search.

Hey Thanks for the comments guys,
Lumberjack - It's funny you mention that, that seems to be my biggest critique that people point out, and I really regret not doing a more detailed breakdown, even when I was at Siggraph this last year, a lot of film companies were requesting more detailed breakdowns, and I couldn't really do anything at the moment but I am DEFINITELY going to change it as soon as I can. And also have full detailed breakdowns in the future as well, thanks for stopping by.
