Hello there :)
This was a speed paint I did back in 2006 , thought I would upload it and share it with you guys .
It took about an hour or so to do , jsut did it in black and white practicing getting good contrasts with values .
I know my anatomy is terrible , but I enjoyed doing this piece .
Critique welcome ..

Hi, welcome!

2006 was a long time ago. If you enjoyed doing this piece, that is all that matters.

What have you painted or drawn recently?
It is somewhat moot to critique something you did 2 years ago by saying, "Oh, the anatomy of the foot is off," or "Your light source is inconsistent, but good job on the hair, dude!" If your skill level has changed because you've been drawing regularly since then.

Please show us something you've done recently or are working on now, for us to critique and help you with.

Thanks for the post and welcoming .
Haha , just wanted to see what people thought of it . And yeah I have improved a tad since then . Here is a piece I've done fairly recently .
Not an original creative work , its a copy I did of a Kelly Brook poster ..
Painted it in photoshop , took 16 hours in total .

If you compare my one to the original poster , there are many things wrong with mine .
The face looks weird , her left arm is way too long , in the poster its held more back and doesn't seem so much in the foreground . Also lots of finer details not precise .
Anyway I wanted to study the female figure a bit more as I am terrible at drawing woman , so this was really good practice , learned a lot and had fun with it . Also discovered a few new techniques with colouring , lighting etc .

And here are some thumbnails of progress captures , I can post the bigger versions of the progress captures , if you are interested .

Hi LinchpinZA,

your last piece looks really nice but as you pointed out there are some issuse. What I would recommend is making her eyes more detailed and give them some reflections. That would change a lot. I think that she would look more vivid. But overall very stunning details and skinn texture.

Thanks for the great crit TedNindo .
I agree with you , the eyes are the selling point of believable painted characters , I msut focuss more on that in the future .
Thanks .
