Hello,

Is there a way to constrain the axis you are moving/rotating (w/o having to use the x/y/z axis lock/unlock in the toolboar?) This seems to be a R10.5 issue - I remember you could just select the axes in the GUI and constrain to it in R10 and prior.

Thanks!

Well just clicking on the handle in question will constrain the axis movement, shift click to constrain to the plane that that handle is the normal of, and double click to lock that axis handle so that subsequent edits when not clicking specifically on the handle will result in a constraint to that axis (double click again to unlock).

Thanks for the response -

The problem is that the axis doesn't highlight when I mouse over them - I made sure the 'Highlight Handles' option is on (Configure > Filter). It's almost like a bug of some sort... I it seems to work fine on another workstation...

Per Anders, I have learned yet another little nugget from you. Thank you, didn't realize the shift trick. That rocks. No wonder I generally always read whatever you post ;-)

Thanks Per-Anders. I deleted and reinstalled C4D (deleted all the prefs and libraries)... the problem persisted. >_< (The axes won't highlight when I mouse over them).

I switched to another computer and it worked fine, but when I opened the same file - it did the same thing! Funny stuff... just need to get R11. :D

(And thank you for that Shift- trick.) ;)
