Well another quick project we did recently....
Client wanted a desert kinda atmosphere,a sand storm and partical effects.
And we had only week to do this.
I had to do the lighting the particals and backgrounds.
Vue really helped us, since we had a very tight deadline, i needed to create background very fast and they had to look nice too, nothing beats vue when it come to enviroment creation.

That's really good. I especially like the blowing sand and the crumbling no's. So did you use maya or max etc and Xstream to do the blowing sand. Could you give us some insight into how you did this.
Thanks! :)

Wow, very nice. Was Vue used to animate? Which version of Vue did you use?

Vue was used For the background Creation only,For the shots that had a still cam i rendered a single hi res image, and for the ones with the camera movements first and last shot only i think had to render sequences. We used vue 6 infinte.
Here's a link for another commercial we used vue to make backgrounds,

nice..thou the impressive stuff is in the particle stuff with real flow and krakatoa, just wondering about the background stuff? since it seems to be only background and not interacting with the rest of the scene, why wasn´t photos or real live cloudbackgrounds used?

well we didn't have much time to do this commercials...if we used photos or live footage for the backgrounds will have to match the lighting with them so wasn't enough time to do that,
beside vue backgrounds are way easier..
