hey guys. just started a new environment. it's gonna be an asian themed street corner. i hope the modeling alone already shows that asian feel. feedback welcome.

Nice work.May be the house's wall looks a little new in relation to the fence (the fence looks great). But in general very nice work.Keep it up.

Looking good but i think there too much dirt on top of the buildings, the outside wall area, and the sidewalk. I cant even make out the details of the sidewalk with all that dirt. Easy up on those dirtmaps a bit and think it would shine more.

I like it but I think ALL your textures are too grimey and a bit disconnected from each other. they have a similar style but the types of materials and the way they are interacting doesnt look as convincing as it could.

hey thanks for the feedback!

i will definitely keep those in mind as i finish this piece. especially since everyone seems to agree that it's a little too dirty, i'll definitely tone that down.

as for the textures being different all around, i see what you mean but that's sorta what i'm going for. i want that cluttered asian street feel where seemingly the walls, roofs and fences are made of whatever the people there could get their hands on. plaster here, concrete and scrap metal there, you know?

so i've textured some more.

i'm not very happy with the road because it looks like a gravel road. gonna decrease the noise and contrast.

It may be a tad dirty, but I think if you want to make that not as noticible you really got to screw up some stuff other ways than adding dirt. Show some more signs of an aging screen corner. Imagine the people who live and work around that area and how they influence the environment.

It reminds me a lot of a place I used to live with an alley going to the right and the main street going off the left side. All the electrical lines had some CRAZY stuff going on. You may also want to consider adding a bike lane. I would concentrate a lot on the ground. There were a lot of street I would walk down near that area where I would think "Was this road designed intentionally to sprain ankles?"

Really great piece you got goin on though.

some graffiti might be fun to add.

I think if you took the time to model someone on a bicycle riding through it would look pretty complete as a composition.

Yeah props such as beaten up old bicycles and boxes will add heaps when you're up to that. But looking great already, I like how this is turning out. Keep it up!

thanks guys! small update. i've added the bike and textured the hanging clothing. i think the colors of the shirts need to be fixed. maybe a little too saturated. oh and HiroHito, this is just for my personal demoreel and will not be included in a game. hopefully this will get me a job!
