it looks like a underlighted torus to me ,
whats special about this piece , whats the point?
i am not trying to be harsh but i dont see any importance to this piece besides being it your first render and that doesnt mean much to anybody else.
keep practicing dude

This thread reminds me the cilinder's post. I think the title was "It took more than 30 hours" or something like that. It was very funny.
If this is serious, I'm sorry man, keep on working.
Sorry for my English.

Oh comeon, I still remember my first anim with max 2.0, it was a small default sphere with default material and default background, and it went by a straight line into space and I was happy :)
And next week I found a book, and found how to texture cubes, and that was my life dream then :p
Those were the times when 3D was fun for me...
Don't bash the guy, I believe this image is really important for him and why not being a bit more lighthearted and nicer :)

yeah what Fritz3D was totally true..it just gave me a buzz and maybe its not totally crazy but it just gave me a thrill but anyway I just felt like sharing it

understandable, but umm what were you trying to accomplish? if this is indeed your first render, look up on 3 point lighting and test that side of lighting... this lends nothing to your knowledge of lighting... start with 3point lighting and you'll have a great foundation for your future projects.
