CGTalk - Homepage: Feedback?

Hello!
I've made a sketch on a page that i'd like some feedback on.

The topimage and the logo are only temporary, and there will ofcourse be something in the left column. I will also change the profile-images so they dont get so much attention.

Very nice, I like it. ;)
As you said, tone down the profile images a bit. Maybe add some kind of content in the "latest reviews" section so we can see how that will look? I kinda like the header image, has a powerfull feeling to it. A new logo will improve alot I think, if it's made right. Maybe make the header a litte smaller, it takes up quite a lot of vertical space right now. Also I think you should move the front article on top of the latest news, when your news starts building up the front article will slide down quite a bit. Unless you plan on keeping the size of the newstable static to only hold three news items at once...
That's about all I have to say about it! :)

I will only show the 3 latest news inside of that "box", and then have some kind of archive where the rest of the news will be.

And as I said, the top of the page is only temporary. I will definately work more on that part.
